About Rich

Level 20 tabletop gamer, model and prop maker on a mission to upgrade gaming tables.

Where it started…

I’m a massive Aliens fan.

So I was pumped when I got wind that two Alien games were being displayed at the biggest wargaming show in Europe.

Cash in wallet, ignoring the bring and buy bargains, I fought my way through the crowds to said games, expecting to be face hugged with inspiration.

But when I got there, honest thoughts? Cool ideas, gaming tables more ET than Aliens.

Funnily enough… I did leave inspired but, for the wrong reasons.

Back to Yorkshire, I set up shop in my garage on a mission to shake up the standard of wargaming tables.

The milk carton towers have expired. I reckon it's time for a new edition of gaming tables.

The thing is we’re in the hobby for different reasons.

Collecting, playing, painting, competitive gaming

Me? I like building stuff.

I get why scenery gets half-arsed. Most of us don’t have the time to paint figures AND create spectacular gaming settings.

We can’t justify a storage unit just for building materials.

But good scenery is core to an immersive tabletop game. That’s my hill to die on.

Anyway here’s the CV

  • Elcapitane to the Yorkshire Renegades Wargaming Group

  • Son to railway modeller Peter Goss – it’s in the family.

  • Award drop ‘Best Constructed Participation Game’ at Hammerhead
